BMW M2 will come in 2016

BMW M2, the successor for the 1-Series M Coupe was confirmed by M division CEO Dr. Friedrich Nitschke more than a year ago. Now, details about the model are emerging. The M2 is expected to be powered by a six-cylinder engine, from which 380 PS (279 kW) and 400 PS (294 kW) sent to the rear wheels through a standard six-speed manual or an optional eight-speed automatic. BMW M2 will take only 4 seconds to perform the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run, compared with 4.8 seconds of M235i, from which the engine borrows. The model is styled with a hood bulge, aggressive side skirts, air diffuser and a trunk-mounted spoiler. Carbon fiber bits and pieces are used to lowered its weight.
